I've been wanting to watch this for a while now. I wanted to see this on the big screen, but I wasn't going to read subtitles for three hours. Anyway, I'm glad the DVD has an English soundtrack. It was dubbed very well. Still, the movie did drag in places. Unfortunately, I don't have a strong opinion either way on this one. It was an interesting mix of genres to be sure. Also left more questions than it answered. I won't mention the ending here in case you haven't read it yet, but I was a more than a little disappointed with it. Hopefully the next book will straighten everthing out but will it be over a year from now before I get a chance to find out what is really true at the end of this one? I hope not. Right now my reading is leaning toward quirky writing, so the authors at the top of my current list include: Tom Holt (British fantasy writer, but very funny if you can get his books), Bill Fitzhugh, Carl Hiaasan, Tim Dorsey, and Christopher Moore. It's called Monkeewrench, a debut suspense novel by a mother/daughter team under the name of P. J. Tracy. They've just released a second novel with the same detective called Live Bait. I have it but haven't read it yet. If it's anywhere as good as the first one, I suspect I'll be getting each of their novels as they get released. The ending on Monkeewrench is a little cliched, but the journey to get there was so enjoyable, I forgave them. A Must Read.
